NHS North Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is in the top ten best performing CCG’s in England for the number of patients being treated, based on data from June 2021.
Analysis of NHS England data shows that across a range of key patient performance measures North Tyneside CCG was seventh on the list nationally in the best performing CCG’s, with overall the North of England performing much better than those in the South. The CCG has one of the highest rates for patients receiving NHS treatment.
Dr Lesley Young-Murphy, Executive Director of Nursing and Chief Operating Officer, North Tyneside CCG said: “Recognising performance is always important and to see we are performing among the top ten CCG’s in the country is most encouraging. It is testament to the hard work which has been undertaken by GP’s and health professionals throughout the services we commission for North Tyneside patients.
“It’s been a very challenging time for GP’s and other health professionals as well as for our patients. The back log due to Covid-19 has caused delays in patient treatment but through our collaborative working with our hospital providers we are seeing those waiting times reduce and more people being treated. However, we also know there’s still room for improvement. We along with our partners are doing everything we can to ensure patients receive the care they need in a safe and timely way.”
