Information for providers

The public consultation has now closed. Feedback will be available in March

If you are a provider of urgent care or work within the North Tyneside area, we would like to hear your views on our ongoing consultation about urgent care.

The scenarios that have been identified as being potentially viable are as follows:

  • A single North Tyneside Urgent Care Centre based at North Tyneside General Hospital (Rake Lane)
  • A single North Tyneside Urgent Care Centre based at Battle Hill
  • A single North Tyneside Urgent Care Centre based at North Tyneside General Hospital (Rake Lane) supported by locally based minor ailments services in the other three areas (Killingworth, Wallsend, Whitley Bay)
  • A single North Tyneside Urgent Care Centre based at Battle Hill supported by locally based minor ailments services in the other three areas (Killingworth, North Shields, Whitley Bay)

In particular, we would like to know your organisation’s view on the following:

  1. What are your views on the clinical model for an urgent care centre? (Please note that you can view this on page 12 of the consultation document or from page 53 in the Case for Change)
  2. What are your views on scenario one and scenario two (Please note that you can view this on page 15 of the consultation document or from pages 66 and 67 in the Case for Change)
  3. What are your views on scenario three and four (Please note that you can view this on page 17 of the consultation document or from pages 68 and 69 in the Case for Change)
  4. Where do you think the North Tyneside Urgent Care Centre should be located and explain why
    a. Battle Hill
    b. Rake Lane at North Tyneside General Hospital
    c. Other, please indicate a potential location
  5. Please tell us if there is anything you feel that we have missed from these scenarios
  6. If these changes were to take place, please tell us if there is anything more you feel that we need to take into consideration?
