Coronavirus update – January 2021
Sat 09th January 2021
Residents and staff in all 31 older adults care homes in North Tyneside have received the first doses of the COVID vaccine between 30th December 2020 and 14th January 2021. This was undertaken by GP practices, TyneHealth, District Nurses, and North Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group nursing and administrative staff.
The first mass vaccination centre for the North East opened at the Centre for Life on 11th January 2021. The mass vaccination centre is sending out invites to North Tyneside residents to invite them to book in for a vaccination. If you would prefer to be vaccinated at one of the North Tyneside local vaccination services, then you can wait for your practice to contact you. You will not be penalised if you do not take up the Centre for Life offer. You can choose the local service and not have to travel as far.
