North Tyneside CCG News

Coronavirus update – 15th February

Tue 16th February 2021

In North Tyneside, we have administered 45,000 covid vaccines to date in our GP led local vaccination centres.  This is a huge milestone in our vaccination programme.

We are now beginning to vaccinate people aged 65 – 69 and those which who are clinically vulnerable against COVID.

If you have been invited to book your covid vaccine by the national booking service, then you will be offered appointments at the mass vaccination sites, which includes the Centre for Life in Newcastle.  If you would prefer to have your vaccination locally within North Tyneside, then please wait to be contacted by your local GP.   You will not be penalised if you do not act upon the national booking letter.  The North Tyneside GP led vaccination centres are in North Shields, Wallsend and Longbenton.

If you have booked an appointment to receive your COVID vaccine and can no longer attend, then please cancel as early as possible. If you are booked into a local North Tyneside vaccination centre you will have an email confirmation, which will allow you to rearrange if needs be. If that is not possible, you can ring your GP Practice to cancel and rearrange. By providing early notice of cancellation, this helps us to manage the number of vaccines better to ensure we can offer it to other residents and appointment slots are not wasted.
