Coronavirus update – 10th May 2021

In North Tyneside 134,000 vaccinations have been delivered to date by our GP led vaccination centres (as at COP Sunday 9th May 2021).   This equates to 65% of North Tyneside’s population having received their first dose COVID-19 vaccine (population aged 16+) and 31% have received the second dose.

We now have more community pharmacies offering the COVID-19 vaccine in North Tyneside and these are only bookable via the  national booking system.

Steve Rundle, Head of Planning leads on the vaccination programme on behalf of the CCG and provides an update on what the next steps are for the vaccination programme

Congratulations to MD Mominul Hamid on being awarded the National Societies & Volunteering Awards – The extra mile award.  MD has regularly volunteered at the COVID-19 vaccination centres and he has said that by volunteering he follow’s his Mother’s legacy of ‘Be there for your community’.
